School Bus Fleet Deployment

Notice of Intent for School Bus Fleet Deployment Program

Dear Scott,

We are pleased to share a Notice of Intent (NOI) to issue a funding opportunity for school bus fleet electrification under a fifth round of MassCEC’s School Bus Fleet Deployment Program, as well as a notice of a future sixth round of the program.

The fifth round of the MassCEC School Bus Fleet Deployment Program aims to further school bus electrification in Massachusetts by providing deployment funding to school districts and school bus fleets, as well as necessary technical assistance and electrification planning.

The Program is intended to enable successful electric school bus deployment projects that demonstrate paths to full-fleet electrification, and supports communities facing increased burdens (including but not limited to health and economic disparities). This round’s application period will open this fall with the release of a Request for Proposal (RFP). Stay tuned via the program website page for the RFP release and subsequent timeline.

The School Bus Fleet Deployment Program also intends to release a sixth round of funding intended to support participation in the anticipated EPA Clean School Bus Program as indicated by providing contingent state cost share support. We will provide more information about this in the coming months.

To learn more about the Fleet Deployment Program, please visit the Deployment Program page below. If you have any questions, you can reach out to the School Bus program team directly by contacting CleanTransportation@masscec.com.

Thank you,

School Bus Advisory Services Program

As a reminder, beyond the Fleet Deployment Program, don’t forget that our Advisory Services Program offers free technical assistance to public school districts to plan for full fleet electrification. Applications are rolling and open now. Please note that if your school district is planning to be, has already, or is currently enrolled in the Advisory Services Program, this does not exclude you from applying to the upcoming round of the Fleet Deployment Program.
